Three years on and Path of Exile is still going from strength to strength. It added in two expansions in 2016 alone, had one million dynamic players in December and did find a 44% increase in total play relative to 2015. For a free-to-play game, that last stat is vital. But 2017 is often a new year, and what better strategy to see in the new year than you will have with the release of not just just one new act, but correctly six when the Fall of Oriath expansion lands in the future this year. The other five usually are essentially reimaginings of the initially five acts, but with completely new NPCs, quests and some configuration tweaks. The new Legacy Addition will also be arriving after 7 days to occupy your stressful, blood-soaked hands until you are able to take your exile home to help Oriath.
That means masses of completely new bosses, reworkings of well known areas, new skill timber and lore to pick by as we gear up for The Fall of Oriath release.
As Oriath is one of the only areas amongst players where civilisation still prevails, its art style is definitely markedly different from the grubby, primordial scenes that make up high of Path of Exile's recent scenery. Expect to see an abundance of opulence and gold decrease on your trip through Oriath, sort of like Diablo III's heaven-based act.
